Consulting Services

The Department of Statistics offers a free consulting service to members of the University community in conjunction with each academic quarter.

Under the supervision of a senior faculty member, statistics doctoral candidates and experienced master's students provide assistance in areas such as:

  • Experimental design
  • Data analysis and interpretation of results
  • Model fitting
  • Time series
  • Classification and prediction

Please complete this client information form to help us prepare to help you, noting the process changes described in the box below. Statistics students should understand that this is not a tutoring service.

Special arrangements are in place for Spring Quarter of 2020, in accordance with university guidance pertaining to distance learning. The client information form will not provide a choice of days and times as before. Instead, the last day of service offered for the quarter — June 3rd — is shown as the default option; complete the other fields with your contact information and a description of your research. After your form is submitted, our consultants will be in touch via email to schedule your remote consulting appointment, to be conducted via a teleconferencing app such as Zoom. We aim to give an initial response within 24 hours, scheduling an initial meeting within the same week your request is received.
